April Sunset

As I left the office yesterday evening, I saw that we were having yet another beautiful sunset. And, my car was parked on the roof of the garage so I couldn't help but take another photo:

I love sunsets.

Solemn Tower

UT decided to darken the Tower in remembrance of the Virginia Tech shooting victims. I wasn't going to go to campus to take photos. But, then... I was out about 10 this evening and on MoPac and I saw it and I wanted to take a photo so I went back to campus.

A shot from the South Mall:

And, then from south-east of the Tower, near Garrison Hall:

One of the things we did on my trip to California last month was go to The Huntington. This was my second visit to their beautiful gardens. We mostly went to take in a really really cool exhibit: Constable's Great Landscapes. After some tea and a tour of the Constable "sketches" and paintings, we went wandering around the grounds for about an hour or so. And, I took about 60 photos, mostly of flowers. I actually took this one (of a poppy?) near the entrance as we were waiting for them to let us onto the grounds.

And, just for fun...a zoom in on the detail at the center of the flower:

I just love looking at the details. They're so unexpected and cool.

Seagull over Venice

After I took the photo of the ocean at Venice Beach, I noticed a few seagulls soaring around. And, I actually managed to get a pretty good shot of one:

Naturally, that made me think of the photo of the buzzard that I took out at my folks' house in January of 2006. I didn't realize that the buzzard never found its way to this page. I took it right around the time I started the page. But, it never found its way here. And, so...without further ado, the buzzard photo I took in Bastrop in January of 2006:
