Aloe Rupestris

[Aloe Rupestris flower]
Details: 1/200 sec at f/7.1, 64 ISO, 200mm focal length (35mm equiv.)

Most of the photos I took at the Huntington were in the Desert Garden. I just can't get over the fact that all those cacti have such gorgeous blooms. No idea what the "common" name of this guy is but his scientific name is apparently aloe rupestris...so there.

And, just for fun, another close-up:

'Looks kinda like a bunch of bananas, eh? Weird, plastic-y bananas. With orange feelers, no less! But, way cool.
