Gold!

On my way home from the Spoffs' this evening, heading west out of their subdivision, I couldn't help but be awed by the sunset:

It had rained much of the day. There were a couple of very loud claps of thunder. The kids spent much of the afternoon playing in the yard in the rain. They had a ball. That first lightning bolt and clap of thunder sent them scurrying inside faster than you can imagine. The thunderclouds had pretty much cleared out, though, leaving that awesome sunset behind. But as I looped around the subdivision and turned back east, heading home, I saw the fleeing thunderheads:

They looked so billowy and golden. Wow. I had to pull over and take some photos. So, I did. And, suddenly, a rainbow appeared:

Spectacular sunsets and beautiful rainbows. Can't be beat.
