Yellow!

[Bird with a yellow belly]
Details: 1/80 sec at f/7.1, 64 ISO, 200mm focal length (35mm equiv.)

Look at the belly on that bird. I got home this evening to find a whole bunch of these little guys hanging out in the alley behind my house. They were not at all bothered by me when I drove up or while I parked my car in the garage. But, as soon as I walked out of the garage with my camera, they started moving away from me. All of 'em except this one. He (she?) perched on that power line for a long time.

I couldn't help but think of my grandmother. She really enjoys watching all the little birdies that hang out at the bird feeders just outside her kitchen window. So, I gave her a call and am gonna send her a print. I described the birds and told her they were singing away. She looked through one of her books and thinks they might be some kind of warbler. 'Sounds good to me!
