Back to the green anole
I said I'd be back with more shots of the lizard and...here I am! I usually stick to just one or two photos per post here on the Photobox. But, my little green friend was doing something that really justified using video. I don't got no stinkin' video, though. So, you get a bunch of photos today.
The lizard (aka green anole) skittered (is that a word, do you suppose?) around the corner of the deck. So, I followed him (her?) around the bend. And, he (I'm just gonna assume it's a "he" from here on out, 'kay?) gave me the evil eye:
Evil. Right?
I didn't scare off, though. So he decided it would be best to switch tactics in his efforts to scare me away. He started bouncing his head up and down:
And, then this happened:
Yikes! I looked it up. That thing's called a dewlap.
He started to calm down and relax:
And, then (!)...back up, more fierce than ever:
And, even taller:
You can almost hear the silent roar, can't you?
I bothered him for 5 or 10 minutes and took way too many photos. I was just mesmerized. But, I finally relented and let him be.
Here you go...one last shot:
His best side? Heh.
