Game 22: Texas at Kansas State
I'm so glad I stayed home to listen to today's game at Kansas State. The Horns won 8-5. They jumped out to a quick lead when Etier (hitting at the top of the lineup in the #2 spot for a change) and Weiss hit back-to-back triples followed by a double by Walsh. Etier went on to go 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored; Weiss went 3-for-4 (he was also hit by a pitch to reach base 4 times in all) with 2 home runs (!), 4 runs scored, and 4 batted in; Walsh went 4-for-5 with 1 run scored, 2 doubles, and 3 batted in. An absolutely fantastic offensive day for the 2, 3, and 4 hitters. Wow. Hoby Milner earned the win, moving his record to 4-3. Corey Knebel threw the final 1.1 innings to earn his 5th save of the season.
I listened to today's game on the radio and this report is based on that broadcast.
Here's the line (from GameTracker):

So, that takes the Horns to 5-1 in conference play and they've yet to play a conference game at home. I'm hoping that bodes well. They combined for 37 hits on the weekend which I'm taking as another good sign. Next up for the Horns is a home game on Wednesday against UT-Pan American. Hook 'em!
