Game 47: Texas at Nebraska
I didn't feel like paying for the video feed so just listened to the game on the radio this afternoon. So, this report is based on the description provided by Craig Way and Bill Little. Texas jumped all over the Cornhuskers who had a terrible 1st inning and never looked back. The Horns won 16-5.
The line-ups:
| Texas | Nebraska | |
|---|---|---|
| Brandon Loy (ss) Mark Payton (rf) Tant Shepherd (1b) Erich Weiss (3b) Paul Montalbano (cf) Jonathan Walsh (lf) Jordan Etier (2b) Cohl Walla (dh) Jacob Felts (c) |
Michael Pritchard (dh) Bryan Peters (2b) Cody Asche (3b) Kurt Farmer (1b) Kale Kiser (lf) Kash Kalkowski (rf) Chad Christensen (ss) Patric Tolentino Tanner Krietemeier (cf) |
The line:
| Team | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | R | H | E |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Texas | 6 | 0 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 5 | 16 | 17 | 1 |
| Nebraska | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 10 | 3 |

That was a really nice win for Texas. It was frustrating that the defense and pitching were somewhat flat in the middle innings but it's hard to keep focussed when a team is so far ahead. And, I'm not about to argue with the results!
Here's hoping the Horns finish off the sweep tomorrow. Don't forget that the start time has changed...first pitch at 12:05. Hook 'em, Horns!
