Big 12 Tournament, Day 4
Game 1: Texas at Missouri
Texas won the first game of the day 6-1 over Missouri...forcing another game later in the afternoon between the two teams. A good start by Sam Stafford and a great relief appearance by Kendal Carrillo along with "slow and steady" on the offensive side of things were all the Horns needed to force that second game. So nice to see the team firing on all cylinders. See my game report for the full story.
Game 2: Kansas State at Texas A&M
Texas A&M beat Kansas State 9-8 in 11 innings. I missed the game (attended a high school graduation) but followed a bit on Twitter. The game was scoreless through the first 3 innings. Kansas State scored 5 in the 4th, though. And, stayed in the lead through the 8th inning when they gave up 4 runs...which tied things up 8-8. The game remained tied at at that score until the bottom of the 11th when a double, a single, an intentional walk, and another single gave the Aggies the win...and pass to the Championship game on Sunday.
Game 3: Missouri at Texas
Alas, the Horns could not pull off another loser's-bracket win of the Big 12 Tournament as they lost to Missouri 1-2 this evening. They played a good game but just could not get two hits strung together to save their Tournament lives. So sad. I've posted a game report as usual. Check it out for full details.
