« Game 59: Texas at Louisiana-Lafayette (Austin Regional) | Main | Austin Regional Tournament, Day 3 »

Elsewhere, Day 2
Selected results from around the rest of the country that are of interest to me (if nobody else):
- Fort Worth Regional: TCU beat Arizona 11-5 and Baylor beat Lamar 6-4. Baylor and Arizona now play an elimination game...winner plays TCU for Championship.
- Coral Gables Regional: Texas A&M lost big time to Miami, 1-14. FIU was eliminated by Dartmouth but Wittels got his hit (3 hits in fact) to keep his hitting streak alive. He'll have to wait 'til next season, though, to see how far he can go with it. A&M meets Dartmouth in an elimination game...winner goes on to face Miami for the championship.
- Fayetteville Regional: Kansas State beat Grambling 9-8 to stay alive.
- Norman Regional: Oklahoma beat North Carolina and are in the driver's seat in their regional.
- Fullerton Regional: Minnesota (#4 seed) beat New Mexico in 10 innings to take control of the Fullerton Regional. Fullerton eliminated Stanford in the other game so New Mexico and Fullerton now play to see who will face Minnesota again for a chance at the championship. Both teams have now lost to Minnesota and will have to beat Minnesota twice to win the regional. Wow.
- Most of the #1 seeds moved on to the Championship games. The ones that were upset on Day 2: Auburn (lost to Clemson) and Coastal Carolina (lost to College of Charleston).
All of the Big 12 schools are still alive. Texas and Oklahoma are undefeated and in good shape in their tournaments. The others have a lot more work to do if they want to move on to the Super Regional round.
