The NCAA Regional Host Sites were announced a little before 3 p.m. today. Texas will host. I plan to attend all the games. As usual.

Here's a list of the Host sites and institutions (records thru May 23):

Last year, the lowest RPI team to host was Michigan (with a #37 RPI). This year, the lowest is 20 (using the older NCAA numbers). 'Wonder why they didn't go out of their way to get a Big 10 host this year? Minnesota has a 24 RPI and Ohio State is at 32. Both are higher than Michigan was last year. Hmmmm... I know the folks up north don't like it but I'm happy to see the committee not folding to pressure from those schools.

Looking at the top 20 in the polls (as of May 18), we see:

I don't have the energy to really go into any of this in depth. I'll likely have more to say once the field of 64 is announced (11:30 tomorrow on ESPN).
