Kansas series oddity
On Wednesday, Kansas cancelled their series against South Dakota State due to cold weather and field conditions. But, then they figured out a way to play in the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The only problem? The Metrodome was already hosting the Hurricane Winter Invitational. So, Kansas and South Dakota State started the first game of their 3-game series at 1:30 am on Saturday morning. The second game started at the conclusion of the first (a little after 5:00 am) and was called at 7:00 am (at the end of the 8th inning) to accomodate the tournament games. The second game was resumed at 3:30 am on Sunday morning. The final game was played immediately following the end of the 2nd game at about 4:20 am. Kansas lost the first game but won the series. Entertainingly, the official attendance numbers: 33 for Game 1, 22 for Game 2, and 26 for Game 3. Heh heh.
