Game 9: Stanford at Texas
No, I didn't make it to the park. I'll be there tomorrow, though! I wish I could've been there today. Kyle Russell hit two home runs again. Travis Tucker hit his first home run as a Longhorn. And, Chais Fuller got his first hit of the season. Another home run! The Horns won the game 5-3. Stanford scored single runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 9th. The pitchers seemed to really be on their games. James Russell started and got the win. He went 5 innings and gave up the first 2 runs on 6 hits with 1 home run, 9 (!) strikeouts, and 1 walk. Joseph Krebs pitched 3.2 innings and gave up one run on 3 hits with 7 (!) strikeouts and no walks. Joseph got into a bit of trouble in the 9th. After striking out the first two batters he faced, he gave up a double and then a single (which pushed the runner across). So, Randy Boone came on to face the final batter (who hit into a fielder's choice to 2b) and get his second save of the year.
All-in-all, a great start to the series. Go, Horns!
