Five games were played yesterday and the Super Regional field is now set:
- Austin (host: Texas). Stanford advances.
- Corvalis (host: Oregon State). Oregon State advances and hosts Stanford.
- Malibu (host: Pepperdine). Mizzou advances from the #4 spot!
- Fullerton (host: Cal State Fullerton). Cal State Fullerton advances and hosts Missouri.
- Houston (host: Rice). Rice held on to beat Baylor and advances.
- Norman (host: Oklahoma). Oklahoma beat Wichita State and goes to Houston.
- Fayetteville (host: Arkansas). Oral Roberts advances.
- Clemson (host: Clemson). Clemson advances and hosts Oral Roberts.
- Oxford (host: Ole Miss). Ole Miss advances.
- Lincoln (host: Nebraska). Miami advances and goes to Oxford.
- Charlottesville (host: Virginia). South Carolina advances.
- Athens (host: Georgia). Georgia held on to win and hosts South Carolina.
- Lexington (host: Kentucky). College of Charleston advances.
- Atlanta (host: Georgia Tech). Georgia Tech advances and will host College of Charleston.
- Chapel Hill (host: North Carolina). North Carolina advances.
- Tuscaloosa (host: Alabama). Alabama advances and hosts North Carolina.
The Big 12 ended up 14-12 in the Regionals. Mizzou (toughest #4 seed in the land, poor Pepperdine) and OU move on. Both teams came through the loser's bracket to win their regionals. We saw how well that worked for Texas last year. Maybe it'll work for Mizzou and OU this year. Both teams now hit the road (OU for the first time this post-season) and face stiff competition. Yikes! Good luck to them both. But, especially the Tigers!
