Alumni in the News
'Thought I'd point out some articles about some ex-Longhorns that you might've missed. Most of these links probably require some sort of registration. Use bugmenot.com if you don't want to bother with the registration process.
- Starting suits Muegge well by Kevin Van Brimmer (Aug. 2). A very nice article about how Danny Muegge is fitting in with his current team. He's doing quite well. Quote: "In the month of July he was 3-0 in five starts. In 11 starts this season, he's 6-2. He's sporting a respectable 3.27 ERA in 88 innings."
- Quintanilla shows off glove by Thomas Harding (Aug. 4). The writer thinks Omar's going to be with the Rockies for some time. My favorite quote: "Quintanilla can play."
- Rockies putting on a road show by Tracy Ringolsby (Aug. 4). More praise for Omar. Quote: "he showed us the ability to play shortstop."
- Street says focus remains on winning, not records by Joe Roderick (Aug. 4). With his 12th save of the season, Huston is 1 save shy of the A's team rookie record set in 1969. Quote (from Huston): "If I save 12 games or how many I save, that's great. But my focus is, what can I do to help my team down the stretch?"
