Quintanilla called up!

The Rockies are calling up Omar Quintanilla! He hit .346 with a home run, seven RBIs, three doubles and two triples in 13 games with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Way to go, Omar! As I post this, he hasn't even been assigned a number. But he does have a page on the Rockies' web site. He's joining the team today. How cool is that?

Omar started at ss. The Rockies snapped a 4-game losing streak to beat the Phillies 9-2. All nine runs were scored in the 5th. In the 5th, Omar got his first hit at the show (single, 0-1 pitch, 2 outs) and scored his first run two batters later. He's wearing #8, by the way. And, here's a photo from the game showing Omar throwing to 1b to try and complete a double play. 'Looks like Omar might've been taken out by Todd Pratt on the play, eh? Ouch.
