Speaking of Worthington Glacier...
I was, wasn't I? Here's what a piece of it looked like...up close and personal. The thing that amazed me the most about the glaciers was the intense blue color of the ice. It totally amazed me. I was told (and don't know if it's true but it makes sense so I'm believing the story) that the ice is so blue because it's incredibly dense. The black stuff, by the way, is dirt. Of course, there are plenty of signs posted all over the park warning you to stay off the glacier (there's lots of shifting of that ice, doncha know?) but there's no way you can resist it. And...lemme tell you, that ice is cold. I guess you coulda guessed that, though. Eh? |
