Comments
I listened to the game on the radio and kept score as I listened. The
game was called after 8 innings due to a Big 12 mercy rule. Dunn pitched
a great game. In his first start as a Longhorn, he went 7 innings,
threw a team season high 16 strikeouts (3 shy of the school record),
walked 2, allowed 5 hits, and 3 runs (1 unearned). It was a great effort.
Needless to say, there were plenty of offensive high points: Loeffler
walked 4 times, scoring twice (I think the Kansas pitchers were afraid to
give him anything to hit after his 3 homers in the first game), Walsh went
3-for-6 (3 runs scored, 1 rbi), Harkrider went 5-for-5 (3 runs scored, 4
rbi), Cridland went 3-for-5 (2 runs scored, 4 rbi...on a grand slam), and
Johnson went 3-for-5 (1 run scored, 3 rbi). And, so...

to no avail.
