Sorry to say...I don't have time to do my usual game summary. I'm running behind and think it's best to get the boxscores online and forget about the summaries for the moment.
I should mention the most peculiar play of the day, though. Cridland came up to bat in the 6th with 1 run already across, 2 outs, and Rumfield at 1b. He hit a ball deep into the cf/rf gap scoring Rumfield easily. Cridland rounded 3b headed for home, collided with Underdown (Baylor 3b), and fell to the ground. He managed to scramble back to 3b and Tommy Harmon immediately got into the 3b umpire's face claiming runner obstruction. All 3 umpires eventually collected for a conference and ended up awarding Cridland advancement to the plate (a homerun). That, of course, brought the Baylor coach out of the Baylor dugout to argue the call. He failed to get any relief, however and the play stood.
