MLB Draft, Day 1
The MLB Draft got underway this evening. Oddly, they only got through the first round plus the first supplemental round. Of primary interest to Texas fans:
- Chance Ruffin (Junior, rhp) was drafted in the supplemental round, 48th overall, by Detroit. No doubt at all that he will sign. I'll certainly miss seeing him on the mound next year...and truly wish him the best of luck.
- Mike Foltynewicz, rhp from Minooka High School in Minooka, IL, was drafted 19th overall. He'd signed with the Horns to play next year. No way he will step foot on campus. Sorry, folks.
The only other note of interest to Big 12 teams is that Barret Loux (rhp, A&M) was drafted 6th overall. Good for him.
I'll try to follow things tomorrow and post updates as I can but may not be able to get anything up 'til the evening.
Oh, and I will be updating my 2010 MLB Draft Summary Page as often as I can. I've already linked to it on the sidebar of the main page in case you lose track of this post and want to followup somewhere down the line.
