Sorry I didn't get these posted last night. I ran out of steam. Anyway...
Scott Bryant's number was retired before yesterday's game:

He gave a nice speech. That's Coach Gus standing in the background along with Scott's wife and son.
I've enjoyed all of the number retirement ceremonies. It's been fun seeing and hearing the "old" guys. But, I have to say I'm glad they're over. Texas is 1-3 in games on jersey retirement days this year. So, perhaps you can understand that sentiment.
UPDATE. I can't believe I forgot to post this photo. Look who took the ceremonial first pitch from Scott Bryant:

Yep...Tommy Harmon. The pitch ended up being high and a little outside. Assuming the imaginary batter was left-handed; if he was a righty, he was plonked.

He caught the ball and made the tag in time. Sadly, it was knocked loose as Gonzalez slid through Rupp and the plate.

Torres was one of only 4 base-runners for Texas on the day; 3 reached on singles and one reached on a dropped third strike. So sad.

Interestingly, Carrillo pitched one-third of an inning without officially facing anyone. He went in with 2 out, threw 3 pitches (2 balls and a strike), and then picked off the runner at 1b. Heh. Also: did you notice the slight homage to Huston Street?

Here's hoping the Horns take the rubber match this afternoon. Wouldn't that make for a very Happy Mother's Day? Well, for some of us...at any rate. Most of the folks reading this page, I'd wager.
