Elsewhere, Day 3
Selected results of interest to me (if nobody else):
- Fort Worth Regional: Oregon State beat the Aggies 13-5 in the first game (Aggies eliminated) and then fell to TCU 4-5 in the evening game. So TCU comes to Austin next weekend for the Super Regional.
- Clemson Regional: Clemson won the early game and then beat Oklahoma State (15-1) in the evening game. They now face each other again tomorrow evening in the final Championship game.
- Chapel Hill Regional: Kansas won the early game (5-1) but came up short in the late game, losing 1-12 to North Carolina. KU eliminated.
- Norman Regional: Oklahoma also won the early game but fell to Arkansas again 0-11 (ouch!) to be the first host institution to lose a regional. There are a few decisions still pending and OU is likely to be joined by another host or two on the losing end of things.
- Oxford Regional: Missouri lost to Western Kentucky 6-11 (Mizzou eliminated).
- Houston Regional: Kansas State was blanked 0-8 by Rice. So, they now face each other tomorrow evening in a final Championship game.
- Baton Rouge Regional: Baylor lost their elimination game 12-15 to Minnesota. The Bears actually scored 7 in the bottom of the 9th to make things interesting.
A bad day for the Big 12. 3 wins and 7 losses. Texas moves on. OSU and KSU are still alive and play tomorrow evening.
