Quick note about the Alabama A&M games

I took the afternoon off and went to the double-header this afternoon. Texas won both games (18-0 and 14-3). Both games went 7 innings.

I went back to work after the games and was there 'til almost 8. I came home, ate dinner, and got a call warning me that I was in for some very bad weather. So, I checked it out and the radar did look very bad. Which prompted me to unplug my computer for the duration. I went out and watched the clouds swirl around 'til about 10 and guess what? The bad weather skirted around me. The clouds were pretty awesome, though. I eventually booted my computer back up but it's too late for me to get a decent report up. I took a bazillion photos (well, maybe not quite that many...but close!) and they're still crawling along the slow USB chain from my camera to my computer. Sigh...

By the way, notice that 18-0 score? Guess what the PA guy did as soon as the game ended? He told us to make sure we picked up our Mighty Fine vouchers on our way out the stadium! I wasn't gonna leave the stadium (what with there being another game coming on) but decided to go looking for some vouchers. And, I found a woman standing on the concourse level at the edge of the grandstand handing out small business-card sized Mighty Fine coupons. She gave me one and I watched as she started walking through the crowd (remaining on the concourse level) handing coupons out in a very random manner. Nobody was handing them out at the gates. And, as near as I could tell, she was the only person handing the coupons out at all. It was extremely inefficient and if you didn't go to the concourse level between the games and seek her out, you did not get a coupon. Wow. I'm guessing she hit 10-to-15 percent of the crowd at a maximum. I looked around as we left the stadium and, once again, not a soul at the gates handing the coupons out. Pitiful. Those folks really need to get their act together. 'Course it's way too late for this season.
