Coming from behind

In his story about yesterday's game, Alan Trubow (from the Statesman) said that the Horns hadn't had a 9th-inning come-from-behind victory since March of 2006. That gave me pause. So, I went looking. And, sure enough, the last time the Horns did that was in a game against Long Beach State on March 10, 2006. There had been a few games in the interim where the game was tied going into the 9th and the Horns scored a run to win. But, none where they were behind and won it in the 9th.

Perhaps that history of being behind in the 9th and going on to lose explains my lack of hope going into the bottom of the 9th on Saturday, eh? Could be.
