Super Regionals - Day 3
The 2-3-6-7 side of the bracket wasn't nearly as efficient as the 1-4-5-8 side. Three of the losers from Saturday came back to win on Sunday so there are three CWS spots yet to be determined. None of the games were very close at all. Today should prove interesting.
Oregon State really stomped on Stanford (winning 15-0) to move on. So, there will be one team from last year's CWS field in this year's CWS. It really is surprising to me that Stanford didn't put up more of a showing in Corvalis...especially after the way they took care of business here in Austin. I really did expect Stanford to win easily. 'Just goes to show that you really never know, eh?
Earlier in the day, Oklahoma fell behind Rice but came back and shut down the Rice offense to win 11-5. Georgia bounced back from the home run fest they served up to South Carolina on Saturday to win 11-5 (same score, spooky). And, Miami blanked Ole Miss 7-0.
Oddly, enough, the NCAA/ESPN folks have scheduled the OU/Rice game for a noon start and the other two games for a 6 PM start. I don't understand why they're not airing one of the games at 3 PM. Very odd.
