Four Horns on Freshmen All-American Team

Four Longhorns tabbed Freshman All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball (TexasSports.com link). The four are: Austin Wood (1 of 7 relief pitchers selected), Bradley Suttle (1 of 8 second basemen), Jordan Danks and Kyle Russell (2 of 16 outfielders). Roger Kieschnick (of) of Texas Tech (who may or may not be distantly related to Brooks) was also selected.

Other Big 12 players selected: Miles Morgan (p, Tech), Ben Hornbeck (rp, KSU), Beamer Weems (ss, Baylor), and Jordy Mercer (ss/p, OSU). Weems is only a freshman? Wow. I don't think I realized that when we played them earlier this year. Huh.

Interesting that there are 4 Texas players versus 5 from all of the rest of the Big 12. I do believe that may bode very well for the Horns in the next year or two, eh? Here's hopin'.

Oh. And, here's a link to the full list in case you're interested.
