News Roundup
Sorry I haven't posted in the last week or so. I've had a cold and just didn't feel up to it. I'm back, though, and will be posting several things this afternoon. To start things off...news links (don't forget about bugmenot.com if you don't want to register at these sites):
Russell is all business with bat by Cedric Golden (Austin American-Statesman) - Another nice article about Kyle. Quote:
Days after committing three errors in his first (and probably his last) start at first base against Texas State, Russell made a diving catch in right field against Villanova and was asked if he felt more comfortable in his new position.
"Well, let's see," he began, smiling the entire time. "Yeah, it would appear that way."
Texas baseball team whiffs in academics by John Maher (Austin American-Statesman) - Info about the NCAA academic accountability sanction against the team. The Horns are losing 1.17 scholarships (that's 10% of the standard 11.7 they've got to give). It's not a good situation. Hopefully, UT has got the academic stuff (first made public when Sam LeCure flunked out) fixed and this will be the last we have to see of this sort of problem.
A couple of articles about Huston Street:
- A's more than happy Street hasn't changed by Joe Roderick (Contra Costa Times)
- Street now open to off speed (AP article)
