Comments from Coach Garrido

Here are Coach Garrido's comments in his discussion with Keith Moreland before the 3rd game of the UNLV series (as best I can remember them).

He said it may look like the pitchers aren't doing their job but that's not the case. He noted that the UNLV park is definitely a hitter's environment. It's got a hard infield, short fences, and wind blowing straight out. Even though it appears that the team is on a disasterous course, he feels good about this team. They responded admirably to the loss on Friday. He says the team is behaving the way it should be and things are going to be better. He says the leaders are learning how to be leaders and are responding to the situation. He says the players are starting to learn the value of the process. The team is developing now and he asks that the fans be patient and see how things are going when they've played their 40th game. He says if they're still doing things like being tentative in the 9th at that point, then there is a problem. But, he doesn't think that's going to be the situation.
