Alumni News: Brooks Kieschnick retires

After signing with the Orioles in December, Brooks Kieschnick announced yesterday that he's decided to retire. That's too bad. I understand the decision but that doesn't make me any less sad to hear about it. Brooks is still my all-time favorite Texas baseball player. It was just so much fun sitting in the stands watching him play. And, I always expect a little more from whoever happens to be wearing #23. (Do you hear that, Kyle McCulloch? Heh.) The Corpus Christi Caller-Times has a pretty informative article about his decision. Derek Smart at the Baseball Toaster also notes his retirement with some sadness.
