Ack!
Esther and I walked over to the Crown & Anchor for lunch today. As we walked in, that Piña Colada song ("Escape" by Rupert Holmes) was playing on the sound system. I hadn' t heard that song in ages. It does not have a home on my iPod. (I just checked. 'Cause, you know how it is. When you have more than 13,000 songs on your iPod, the occasional song you don't expect to be on your iPod actually is on your iPod. Anyway, it's not there.) I didn't really think much about it; except to note that it's not really the kind of song you generally hear when you're at the Crown & Anchor. Almost as soon as I had that thought, the music was abruptly changed to something a bit more head-bangy. So to speak. About an hour after lunch, I walked into Esther's office. And, what's playing on her radio (tuned, no doubt, to Majic 95 FM)? Yep. Same said Piña Colada song. Spooky.
She did not abruptly change the station, by the way.

Who's writing this blog?
An entertaining web page: GenderAnalyzer: Man or Woman - who is writing that blog?
I ran my three blogs through the page and got the following results:
- My main page (the one you're now reading): We guess http://www.joanna.org/ is written by a man (53%), however it's quite gender neutral.
- My Longhorn baseball page: We think http://www.joanna.org/hook-em/ is written by a man (68%).
- My photo page: We think http://www.joanna.org/photobox/ is written by a woman (71%).
Heh heh.

Overheard
A few days ago, I was walking to my car and overheard this bit of conversation between a little boy (I'm guessing he was about 4 years old or so) and his father:
Dad: "How was your day?"
Boy: "Good."
Dad: "What did you do today?"
Boy: "We had too much fun!
Dad (laughing): "Too much fun? You probably shouldn't do that."
Boy (sounding very puzzled): "Why not?"
And, that was all I heard. 'Made me smile.

Campus Watch #52
From today's Campus Watch crime report:
Main Building (#1 South Mall)
Fraudulent Use of or Possession of Identification: A non-UT subject reported a UT student had obtained her Social Security number in order to receive fraudulent financial aid loans. During the investigation, the officer learned that the victim knows the suspect, as the victim gave birth to the suspect 19 years ago. Loss value: $40,000.00. Discovered: October 2008.
And, then they gave a tip about checking your credit history. But, my main point is this: wow.
